Do Carbonated Drinks Cause Cellulite?
A nice soda pop or fizzly water is a great drink to have, as it is refreshing and for many people (like myself J) very addictive. There is just something about carbonated drinks that makes them enjoyable to drink, especially when you eat it with the right foods…..yum
In writing this blog, I have definitely been hearing a lot of different myths, but one that I came across needed to debunk is the role of carbonated drinks and does it cause cellulite?
Bubbles Will Not Cause Cellulite
It is a bit funny to hear, but there are some people who believe that the bubbles in carbonated drinks like soda and sparkling water are responsible for the look of cellulite on the body.
This actually made us chuckle when writing it, but to make things clear to people out there, the bubbles found in carbonated drinks such as sodas, sparkling water and beer does not cause cellulite. It is not possible and far from the truth.
If you suffer from cellulite, it is not an alien attack happening in the skin, but it is actually just fat cells that push up against the skins connective tissue. When these fat cells push up, you will see that the skin will generally have an orange peel, lumpy look to it.
You Don’t Have to Stop Drinking Your Sparkling Water!
If you are a fan of sparkling water brands like Pellegrino or Perrier, then you can breathe a sigh of relief. You do not have to stop drinking them, especially if you are concerned about it causing or making your cellulite worse.
If however, you enjoy all types of carbonated drinks, it will be a good idea to stick with sparkling water, as they are not full of sugar. Sugar is something which should be eliminated from your diet if you are looking to lose weight, as well as reduce the appearance and look of cellulite.
Soda Pop and Cellulite
I talk about the link between soda and cellulite in-depth, but just like sparkling water, the bubbles from Coke, Pepsi, Sprite, Mountain Dew, Fanta and any other soda out there does not cause cellulite.
You should however consider cutting soda out of your diet if you are serious about getting yourself in shape and also making the step to reduce the look of cellulite.
Soda is full of sugar and if not burned up, that sugar will essentially turn into fat. The more fat you have, is the more you will notice the lumps, hills and valleys on the skin. Cutting back on your sugar, working out and eating healthy are all steps you need to take if you do not want to deal with the skin condition that people absolutely hate.
